The HiBy R Android “Mobile Concert Hall” soundstage enhancement bundle (manual v1.2)

Foreword

The HiBy R Android devices have a lot on offer over and above a plug-and-play music experience.  Some are relatively straightforward, such as the systemwide MageSound 8-ball (MSEB) and the parametric EQ (which can be used to automatically tune supported earphones to various tuning targets https://www.head-fi.org/threads/autoeq-via-squig-link-for-supported-earphones-on-hiby-r-android-players.972271/

Then there’s the more involved process of adding “Mobile Concert Hall” capabilities  to any earphones via convolution, which I will detail below:

The process

1. Browse to these addresses and download these three files

a. Pure crossfeed--http://efofi.com/Joe's%20lossless%20crossfeed%20v2-48k.wav

b. With minor room-sim--http://efofi.com/Joe0Bloggs%20clear&vivid%204ch%20IRS%202020-48k-short.wav

c. With full room-sim--http://efofi.com/BRIR20231115-hWider2-short.wav

d. With full room-sim, extra soundstage depth and improved bass timing (you can tell I like this one  :) )--http://efofi.com/OneWay_fullOpt_4096.wav

2. Go to Audio Settings->Plugins with WiFi connected and wait for the plugin list on the bottom half of the screen to populate.  Clear your applied plugin list on top (if any) and start over with adding plugins in this order (tap the bottom list one by one):

(1) Fixed sample rate (at the top)

(2) DRX10K dynamics (my optional recommendation, read about it here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/introducing-the-all-new-hiby-drx10k.968627/ )
(3) (any other plugins you desire)

(4) Convolution (at the bottom)

3.
a) Tap on fixed sample rate up top and select sample rate of 48000 (this can be turned on and off as desired, but Convolution will only function at sample rates other than 48000 with this  on)

b) adjust DRX10K to taste or turn on/off as desired.  It enhances dynamics rather than volume at bass, mids and treble

c) then tap on convolution and then the text box to load one of the files downloaded in step 1

That’s it (hopefully not too complicated!)

The 4 files expand the soundstage of music to different degrees.
